William Bowen Dalrymple Sr., 81, of Prince Frederick died Oct. 28, 2012.

He was born Feb. 25, 1931, in Prince Frederick to the late Phillip Andrew and Gladys Stinnett Dalrymple.

He served in the U.S. National Guard and worked as a heavy equipment operator in the logging industry. He was a loving man who was dedicated to his family, adored and cherished his wife and sons and loved nothing more than to take great care of them. He was a strong, hard worker who loved to farm and enjoyed working the land. Such a humble and selfless person, there was never someone in need whom he would not help. He was the rock of his family, who will miss him very much.

He was proceeded in death by his parents; wife, Louise Mae Dalrymple; brothers, Wallace, James and Charles; and sister, Dorothy Carol.

He is survived by his sons, William B. Dalrymple Jr., Gary E. Dalrymple, Joseph P. Dalrymple, Roger K. Dalrymple, Dennis A. Dalrymple and David A. Dalrymple; six daughters-in-law; sister, Betty Robinson; 23 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Family received friends Nov. 1 at Rausch Funeral Home in Port Republic.

Funeral services were Nov. 2 at Full Gospel Assembly of God Church in Prince Frederick.

Interment followed at Southern Memorial Gardens in Dunkirk.
