Police are investigating two Nov. 5 burglaries in Waldorf that occurred close together at about the same time, the Charles County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Officers initially responded at 9:25 p.m. to the 2500 block of Lisa Drive, where a homeowner said an unknown person had entered his home through an unlocked window and stolen property.
A short time later, officers got a call from a nearby resident in the 2700 block of Pinewood Drive who reported he had been asleep in his bedroom when a man walked in and woke him. Investigation revealed the burglar, who fled after being seen, had entered the home through an unlocked kitchen window and stolen cash.
Officers conducted a search with the help of a police dog team. The scene was processed and evidence was recovered.
Officer C. Collins and Cpl. Burroughs are investigating.
