Deputy state fire marshals are investigating the Nov. 5 arson of a vacant home in the 11900 block of Patchwork Place in Waldorf, the Maryland State Fire Marshal reported.
Investigators determined that someone started the blaze at 11:04 p.m. in a bathroom. No one was hurt, but the fire caused an estimated $70,000 in damage to the one-story house.
A passerby discovered the flames, which took 45 firefighters from volunteer departments in Waldorf, Brandywine, La Plata, Accokeek, Hughesville and Bryans Road about 20 minutes to put out.
