Head coach: Crystal Gibson (second season)

Last year: 10-16, 8-8 (fifth in CAC)

Athletes to watch: G Jasmine Jones (Sr.), G/F Joanna Murray (Sr.), G Pui Sham (Sr.), F/C Sophie Pruden (Jr.)

Key personnel losses: F Raven Owens (All-CAC; transfer)

Strengths: Gibson admitted that going into her second year, there is a different level of comfort surrounding the Seahawks as a whole. Secondly, Gibson has four seniors on the team this season, four more than she had all of last season, which has led to a different attitude around the program. Lastly, Gibson admitted that her depth, being able to play one through 14 players, is something that should help the Seahawks to a successful season.

Weaknesses: I think there is always a concern about learning how to win, Gibson said. She wants the team to learn from their mistakes and learn how to win games, stating that the team was in positions to win games last year, but fell short at times. She believes the learning process has taken place, especially with the leadership on this team.

Coachs comments: I think one of my goals for this team is to really compete for one of the top three spots in the league. The league is extremely strong this year. We have seven teams in [the league] and only six make the playoffs. I think the fight for a playoff spot, this year in the league, is going to be extremely tough.

Key games: Dec. 1 vs. York (Pa.), Jan. 16 at Mary Washington (Va.), Feb. 16 vs. Mary Washington (Va.)
