The Fifth Annual Community Health Fair was held Saturday at the Church of the Brethren in Frederick.

Sponsored by the Asian American Center of Frederick, a nonprofit agency serving Frederick County residents, the health fair united more than 30 volunteer doctors and the Frederick County Health Department, Frederick Memorial Hospital and the Frederick County Community Action Agency to provide free health screenings and flu shots to residents who may not have access to preventive health care.

“Health disparities exist in our community and we must be empowered to collaborate with each other to address the unmet need of our community together,” AACF’s Executive Director, Elizabeth Chung, said in a news release about the diverse groups that participate in the annual event. “Many health care professionals and volunteers keep coming back year-after-year to give back to the community.”
