If you’ve been putting off raking the leaves out of your yard this year, time is running out to get rid of them at the curb.

Rockville has already begun its final round of leaf collection for the year. The Department of Public Works will pick up leaves in the southern part of Twinbrook the week of Nov. 26, the northern part of Twinbrook the week of Dec. 3, the northern central section of the city the week of Dec. 10 and the western part of the city the week of Dec. 17. See a map at www.rockvillemd.gov/residents/leaf.htm.

Rockville also vacuums leaves once in April. For more information, call 240-314-8570.

Montgomery County will begin its final leaf collection of the fall after Thanksgiving. Exact timing will depend on weather conditions, but the county posts signs throughout the work areas several days before crews’ arrival.
