The Croydon Creek Nature Center in Rockville is getting ready for winter.

Maybe you’re looking for a gift for a bird-watcher in the family, or maybe you just enjoy seeing wildlife in your backyard. Either way, take note of a seed sale to benefit the nature center, going on now through the end of the month.

The nature center is taking orders for sunflower seeds, peanut splits, suet and other types of bird food. Orders are due by Nov. 30, and will be available for pick-up Dec. 8. Visit www.rockvillemd.gov/croydoncreek to download an order form.

Kids ages 3 through 10 can learn how to use natural and recycled objects to make holiday crafts and ornaments at the nature center from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 1.

The workshop costs $8 for residents of Rockville and $10 for others, and adult participation is required for children under age 8. Register by Nov. 28 at rockenroll.rockvillemd.gov, or call 240-314-8800 for information.

For details on other events at the nature center, visit www.rockvillemd.gov/croydoncreek or call 240-314-8770.
