St. Peterís Catholic Church in Olney is collecting items to be donated to victims of Hurricane Sandy from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Nov 24.

The drive is being coordinated through Fran Mulhern, a former parishioner and Olney resident who now lives in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Her parish, Holy Trinity, has become a distribution point, sending out several truckloads of items each week to the hardest hit areas.

Items needed are: hats, coats, gloves, socks, new underwear (no other clothes), baby food, formula, diapers, batteries, paper products, cleaning products, personal hygiene products, trash bags and prepackaged food. Monetary donations will also be accepted. For more information, call 301-774-0162. Located at 2900 Olney-Sandy Spring Road in Olney.
