Alex Belman, a 2012 Clarksburg High School graduate, has organized a breast cancer research fundraising team at Miami University in Ohio.

The team, named “Beards for Boobs at Miami University,” raises funds by direct donations as well as bracelets and custom pink t-shirts sales.

The freshman college student came up with the idea earlier in the semester with some friends.

Proceeds and donations are going to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The team is registered through the Passionately Pink 2012 campaign.

Beards for Boobs at Miami University has set a fundraising goal of $5,000 by the end of November; as of Nov. 16, they had raised $1,806 through the team page.
