The DC and Northern Virginia Councils of BBYO Inc., the world’s largest pluralistic Jewish youth movement, are holding the eighth annual Celebration of BBYO on Thursday, Dec. 6 in Bethesda.

The gala will begin with a cocktail reception at 6:30 p.m., accompanied by live music performed by current BBYO teens. Dinner and a program honoring the recipients of the Phil Berg Distinguished Alumni Award and the Kol Echad Award will follow at 7 p.m. The gala will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of Brandeis AZA, one of several BBYO DC Council chapters.

Bernie and Janyse Weisz of Rockville will be honored as the recipients of the Phil Berg Distinguished Alumni Award. Also being honored are Limor Hartman of Rockville and Fonda Low of Gaithersburg for their work with the DC Council’s Special Needs Program as the recipients of the Kol Echad Award.

The gala will take place at the Marriott Bethesda North Hotel & Conference Center at 5701 Marinelli Road.
