The following items were compiled from reports from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office. During the week of Nov. 5 through 11, deputies responded to 1,542 calls for service throughout the community.
Copper components of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning unit system were stolen from the back of a home on Bronco Trail between Nov. 1 and 7. The combined theft and damage to the system is estimated at $10,000. Dfc. J. Harms is investigating.
Items stolen from home
Someone broke into a home on Olivet Road between 7:45 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. Nov. 7 and stole $2,000 worth of property, including a 48-inch Sanyo flat screen LCD television, a Gateway laptop and an HP laptop. Dfc. W. Wells is investigating.
Wallet, iPod stolen
Someone stole a black leather wallet and an iPod nano from an unlocked vehicle parked outside a 3rd Street home between midnight and 11:30 a.m. Nov. 5. Deputy Y. Bortchevsky is investigating.
Woman charged for stealing from Giant
Deputy M. Quinn responded to Giant at 3:57 p.m. Nov. 7 for a check welfare complaint. A woman standing outside the store appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs and was allegedly found in possession of about $40 worth of items from the store she had not paid for. Quinn arrested Robin M. Bishop, 53, of Prince Frederick and charged her with two counts of theft less than $100.
Drugs found in car
At 12:33 a.m. Nov. 6, Deputy G. Gott stopped a vehicle at Route 4 near Lower Marlboro Road and allegedly found the driver, Melvin R. Jones Sr., 45, of Huntingtown in possession of suspected drugs. Jones was arrested and charged with possession of 10 grams or more of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia with intent to use and driving on a suspended license.
