The operator of a pleasure boat was charged with speed and improper lookout after the vessel hit a stone jetty Thursday evening in the Chesapeake Bay.

Sgt. Brian Albert of the Department of Natural Resources Police said there were four people from Herndon, Va., on board a pleasure boat when the vessel hit a stone jetty between Anne Arundel and Calvert counties near Rockhold Creek in Deale. Two people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Albert said, and the other two people refused treatment on scene.

The names of the operator and the boat passengers were unavailable as of press time.
