The free event will be held from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Dec. 1, at The Square in downtown Thurmont. A ribbon cutting will be at 9 a.m., followed by Santa’s arrival at 10 a.m.

Children ages 12 and under, will receive stockings filled with candy. Face painting, caroling, live entertainment, cookies, cider and photos with Santa will be featured throughout the day. The lighting of the Thurmont Lions Club Remembrance Tree will also take place.
