The New Market Volunteer Fire Company will host its first Christmas tree lot starting this month.
The Christmas tree sale will be held from 6-10 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m.-10 p.m. on weekends, starting Saturday through Dec. 23. The lot will be behind the fire station, at 76 West Main St.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to the fire department’s building project fund and other capital improvement projects.
Construction is progressing on the renovation and expansion of the company’s 57-year-old fire station. The project — which is expected to be complete in February— includes a 3,000-square-foot addition and adds a second floor to the building.
The estimated $1-million project will also expand the station’s bay area.
