FedEx Field in Landover featured a different type of reception in advance of Thanksgiving.

In the run-up to the holiday, a collection of former NFL Washington Redskins players such as Jimmie Jones and Roy Jefferson were joined by Prince George’s County leaders such as County Executive Rushern L. Baker III in giving turkeys and other food to more than 3,500 families on Nov. 20, according to a statement from the Redskins.

This year’s effort marked the 10th annual Harvest Feast giveaway. The event, sponsored by the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation, featured more than 500 volunteers from various organizations including FedEx, Harris Teeter and the Prince George’s County Department of Social Services, according to a statement from the Redskins.
