Helen “Charlene” Graham, 61, of Mechanicsville died Sept. 17, 2012, at Civista Medical Center in La Plata.

She was born Oct. 26, 1950, in Riverdale to the late Frederick H. Hoots and the late Helen (Yowell) Hoots.

She was formerly from Temple Hills and Waldorf. She moved to Mechanicsville in 1988. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting, antiques, riding motorcycles and RV trips. She was crazy about Law & Order and QVC home shopping. She was also an animal lover and rescued several animals.

She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Donald Mumford Graham Jr.; son, William Clark and his wife, Penny Clark; granddaughters, Skylar and Brannon Clark; stepdaughters, Margaret Hurt, Ruth Graham and Therese Pitts; brother, Fred W. Hoots of Huntingtown; and sister, Virginia Hoots of Temple Hills.

Family received friends Sept. 25 for a celebration of her life at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home in Charlotte Hall.

A funeral service was held Sept. 26 at the funeral home with the Rev. Dave Weinberg officiating.

Interment followed at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Cheltenham.
