Llewellyn Myra Railey, 96, of Huntingtown died Nov. 15, 2012, in Prince Frederick.

She was born in Norfolk, Va., to the late Kirby and Mary Sutton and was raised by Joseph and Louise Fisher.

She earned her degree as a registered nurse and worked in the nursing field before she married Herbert Railey Sr. on Nov. 4, 1939. She then began her career as a U.S. Navy wife until her husband retired after 28 years of service. She had lived in the Southern Maryland area for 30 years. Her hobbies included ceramics, needlework and flower gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Herbert, who died in 1985.

She is survived by her sons, Herbert Railey Jr. and his wife, Anne, of Dunkirk and Robert Railey III of Huntingtown, who was her caregiver; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Middleton of Lothian; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Inurnment service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

Arrangements are being provided by Raymond-Wood Funeral Home in Dunkirk.
