Bethesdaís Winter Wonderland will kick off the holiday season with singing, Santa and live ice sculpting Dec. 1-2.

The winter concert on Saturday, Dec. 1, at 8 p.m. will feature professional a cappella and gospel groups at Imagination Stage at 4908 Auburn Ave., including American University Gospel Choir; The Capitol G's, Georgetown Universityís all-male a cappella group; Faux Paz, University of Marylandís a cappella group; and Tonic and Gin, an a cappella group.

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at www.bethesda.org. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under.

Celebrations continue on Sunday, Dec. 2, from 1 to 4 p.m. in Veteranís Park with a live ice sculpting presentation, followed by choral performances from local school groups and a visit from Santa Claus. Children will be provided with holiday treats. Sundayís events are free.

Garrett Park Elementary School, Norwood School, Our Lady of Lourdes, Seneca Valley High School and Westbrook Elementary School will delight the crowd with holiday music. Additionally, Santa Claus will make a visit to the park that afternoon, and holiday treats will be provided to children.
