Staff photo by REID SILVERMAN A mobile St. Mary’s sheriff’s office command post from the agency’s “Maximum Deployment Holiday Patrols Operation” sits at the Wildewood shopping center in California, as part of a countywide crackdown on criminal activity that statistics show increases on Friday evenings. The operation is in addition to the agency’s annual patrol and special operations holiday enforcement initiatives. About 30 additional deputies will participate in the program, including 3 p.m. roll calls, as the mobile command moves on this Friday to Charlotte Hall and to shopping centers in Lexington Park and California in the weeks ahead.
