James Anthony Tippett Jr., 25, of Hollywood was jailed in lieu of 10 percent of $3,000 bond after his arrest last week on charging papers alleging he punched and scratched another man on Nov. 17, stole two of his shotguns and drove away in a woman's car.

Tippett was charged with committing a second-degree assault on Harrell Morgan and unlawfully taking Amy Ward's 2003 Toyota Corolla, through the investigation by sheriff's deputy Timothy Snyder.

In addition, Tippett was charged with a theft offense in court papers alleging he stole a bottle of Captain Morgan spiced rum on Nov. 16 at DJ's One Stop store in Mechanicsville.
