Nina Chawla and Sumeet Karnik were married Nov. 17, 2012, in an Indian ceremony at The St. Regis Hotel in Washington, D.C. The reception took place at The Willard Hotel.

The bride, 31, is a real estate executive who lives, works and grew up in Potomac. She received her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and has graduate degrees from both Harvard and Columbia Universities.

The groom, 34, is an investment banker for UBS in New York City, and hails from Grosse Pointe, Mich. He received his undergraduate degree from University of Michigan and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

The wedding festivities began with a rehearsal dinner Nov. 16 at the St. Regis. The Baraat blocked the street from the White House to the St. Regis for its procession. The wedding ceremony occurred in the Astor Ballroom of the St. Regis. Three hundred guests attended the reception at the Willard Hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue on Nov. 17.

The couple met in June 2010 in New York City.
