Kenmoor Middle School in Landover beat out the competition on Nov. 13 and will now move on to play for the Prince George’s County Public School’s Science Bowl championship on March 26, 2013.

The competition pits students from schools in Prince George’s County in Jeopardy-like competitions where students answer science questions from different categories. The Kenmoor team beat students from Oxon Hill Middle School in Fort Washington in the first round of the competition, and then went on to defeat the team Ernest E. Just Middle School in Mitchellville. The team for Ernest E. Just defeated students from Nicholas Orem Middle School in Hyattsville in the first round.

“All the kids brought their best game and what I noticed was that very few of the questions were missed,” said the game’s host Dave Zahren. “All the questions but two were answered correctly. Even when they got the wrong answers, they were really close. That really testifies to the caliber of the students we get that they are able to get these questions right.”
