This year’s Sotterley Holiday Candlelight event, “From This Day Forward” will run from 6:30-10 p.m. Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. In this living history production set within the 1703 Plantation House, visitors will encounter Sotterley’s past Christmas seasons and the families who lived and worked at the plantation.
“This year’s presentation is based on the 60 years that Sotterley was owned by the Briscoe family,” said Sotterley Education Director Jeanne Pirtle, “a period that lasted from 1826 to 1885.”
The actors many of whom have participated in the production of “The Choice” and the Sotterley Ghost Walk will be back along with several from the Three Notch Players.
James LePore will direct the program. Linda Jones is production manager, while Pirtle will be assistant director. The actors include Shemika Barry, Kim Bessler, Chris Burch, Debbie Curtis, Ming Diaz, Dawna Diaz, Sarah Dudley, Helena Fondeur, Emily Fox, Alyssa Fox, Emily Funderburk, Sarah Georgiou, Pat and Frank Greenwell, J.D. Hogg, Jay Hunter, Shannon Ivanchev, Phoenix Ivanchev, Jivon Jackson, Tim Joyce, Kirk Kugel, Amanda LePore, Tia LePore, Ashley Maucher, Paul Rose, Kenny Waters and Dawn Weber.
“All volunteers,” Pirtle said. “We couldn’t operate without our volunteers.”
“The mansion is all decorated as a living history exhibit in Christmas decorations from the period,” she said.
Adance registration is required. No walk-ins. The cost is $15 per person.
