Sheila Irene Martin, 71, of Lothian died Oct. 11, 2012, at her residence.

She was born Feb. 15, 1941, in Washington, D.C., to Carlton Cecil and Isabelle (Meddings) King Sr.

She was raised in the suburbs of Prince Georgeís County, where she attended public grammar schools and Suitland High School. She was employed by Hess Oil Co., where she worked in the accounting department. She also worked for Steuart Petroleum in Washington, D.C., and retired from Mattress Discounters. She lived in Lothian with her daughter, Cheryl, since 2005 and previously lived in Prince Georgeís County and in Owings for 20 years. She enjoyed going to Rod íNí Reel bingo and was active in the North Beach Senior Center. She also enjoyed camping, vacationing to her timeshare in Las Vegas and playing the slot machines.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl Clifton Martin; son, Edward Carl Martin; and brothers, Raymond, William, Carlton and Larry King.

She is survived by her children, Raymond Bryan McReynolds of Las Cruses, N.M., Cheryl Lynne Dwyer and her husband, Michael, of Lothian, Toni Marie George of Chesapeake Beach and John Douglas Martin and his wife, Jessica, of Hughesville; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and sister, Estelle Robey of Crofton.

Family received friends Oct. 15 at Rausch Funeral Home in Owings, where services and a celebration of her life were held Oct. 16.

Entombment followed at Southern Memorial Gardens in Dunkirk.
