President Barack Obama was re-elected at Appeal Elementary School after students participated in a mock presidential election the week before the actual election. Garrick Hendricks, election systems automation coordinator with the Calvert County Board of Elections, set up an election booth and created a simplified ballot for the students to vote in the mock election. The students were also given a question to respond to regarding how they felt about AES as a school. Several weeks before voting, the students were engaged in activities to learn about the Electoral College, the candidates and the issues. Pictured are Kevin Cheng, Jacob Goedeke and Jatori Hughes.
