George Alexander Petropol, 75, of Fort Washington died June 28, 2012, at George Washington Hospital in Washington, D.C.

He retired from ADT Security after 37 years of service. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps and retired after four years as a corporal. He was a longtime coach for the Allentown Boys & Girls Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander George and Natalie (Thomas) Petropol.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Nappi); sons, George V. and his wife, Terry, Dominic and his wife, Barbara, Tony, John and his wife, Jen, Steve and his wife, Stacy, of Prince Frederick and George Jr. and his wife, Tracey; daughter, Lisa Gentry and her husband, Eddie; grandchildren, Darlene, Bonnie, Rusty, Angel Alexis, Shelly, Tony Jr., Noah, David, Lilia and Lucia; three great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.

Family received friends for a graveside service with military honors Oct. 29 at Arlington National Cemetery.

Entombment followed in the columbarium at the cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
