Mary Gertrude Readmond, 71, of Hollywood died Nov. 23, 2012, in Leonardtown.
Born July 25, 1941, in Mechanicsville, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Ernest and Mary Agnes Harding. She was the wife of John Franklin Readmond Sr., whom she married on Feb. 4, 1967, in La Plata. He preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 2011.
She is survived by her children, Brenda Readmond of Callaway, Frank Readmond of Hollywood and Ernie Myers of Shenandoah, Va.; siblings, Susie Greenwell of Hollywood, Jackie Harding of Newburg and Johnny Harding and Jimmy Harding, both of Mechanicsville; and grandchild, Sydney Myers of Callaway. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenny Harding.
She was a lifelong resident of St. Mary’s County. She graduated from Margaret Brent High School in 1959. She was in sales at Amish Heirloom Furniture in California. She enjoyed shopping, spending time with family and collecting dolphin figurines.
The family received friends and prayers were recited Nov. 28 at Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home in Leonardtown. A funeral service was held Nov. 29 in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Sheldon Reese officiating. Interment followed at Joy Chapel Cemetery in Hollywood. Pallbearers were Jimmy Hayden, Jimmy Harding, Ricky Harding, Timmy Readmond, David Readmond and Charles Greenwell Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Andy Hardy Harding and Brian Harding.
