Malcolm Elmer “Mac” Goode Sr., 85, of Maddox died Nov. 28, 2012, in Leonardtown.
Born May 7, 1927, he was the son of the late Douglas F. and Dora Lyon Goode.
He was the husband of Anne Adams Goode, whom he married on July 30, 1949, at Holy Face Catholic Church in Great Mills. She preceded him in death on May 31, 2010.
He is survived by his son, Malcolm Goode Jr. (Barbara) of Maddox; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, Eloise Williams of Hattiesburg, Miss., Douglas Goode of Annapolis and Jean Stahl of Lancaster, Pa. He was preceded in death by his son, Allen Lee Goode; and siblings, Laura Kiel, Grace Thomfordt and James Warren Goode.
He graduated from Margaret Brent High School in 1944 and worked as a tobacco and grain farmer. He belonged to the St. Mary’s County Farm Bureau and was a director from 1968 to 1989, serving 22 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and walking with his dogs around the farm, Pond Point Farm.
The family received friends and prayers were recited Dec. 2 at Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home in Leonardtown. A funeral service was held Dec. 3 at Christ Episcopal Church in Chaptico, with the Rev. Christopher Wilkens officiating. Interment followed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery in Bushwood. Pallbearers were Matthew Goode, Patrick Goode, Kevin Bartz, Donald Goode, Ronald Goode and Robert Stahl Jr.
