Marie Allana Grant, 70, of Mechanicsville, formerly of Accokeek, died Nov. 30, 2012, at her home.

Born March 4, 1942, in Uniontown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Orville and Ellen (Salvato) Gordon.

Before retiring, she worked as an office manager for JITC at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Indian Head. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning and spending time with family. She thoroughly enjoyed attending football games.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Grant.

She is survived by her sons, John Grant (Wendy) of Annapolis and Gary Grant (Angel) of White Plains; her daughters, Denise O’Grady (Jimmy) of Mechanicsville and Theresa Brenner (Richie) of Port Republic; her brothers, Michael Gordon of Uniontown and Sam Gordon of Georgia; her sister, Judy Peavornick of Masontown, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The family received friends and prayers were said Dec. 4 at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home in Charlotte Hall. Mass will be celebrated today, Dec. 5, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Piscataway Catholic Church in Clinton. The Rev. Timothy Baer will officiate. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ryan Grant, Jimmy O’Grady, Sean O’Grady, Nick Grant, Kyle Hicks, Charlie Brenner, Matthew Tippett and T.J. Andrade. Honorary pallbearers will be Louis Collins, Joey Collins and Patrick Farr.
