Learn how to play holiday tunes on the ukulele and learn about arrangements of strums and picking techniques. The class is designed for those who can already play three or four chords.

Space is limited for the $40 session. Contact HMT to register at workshops@hmtrad.com or 301-270-9090.

The sixth annual Holiday Art Sale on Dec. 8 is a great place to find jewelry, pottery, photography, wearable art, glasswork, paintings and prints. The sale is at the Takoma Park Community Center (7500 Maple Ave.) in Takoma Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There will be art activities for the kids while adults peruse the work of more than 30 artists. Music will be provided by the Takoma Park Singers and Katie McCreary.
