The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating a Nov. 28 afternoon vehicle fire that spread and caused minor damage to a Lusby home.

At 1:26 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, about eight firefighters from the St. Leonard Volunteer Fire Department responded to a Chart Court home in Lusby for a reported fire to a 2006 Ford Mustang, according to a fire marshal’s press release. The fire was controlled in about five minutes and no one was injured, the press release states.

The occupants of the home noticed smoke coming from the passenger compartment of the Mustang and tried to extinguish the fire. Officials said the Mustang was destroyed by the fire. The house also sustained minor damage from the heat, officials said. Altogether, the fire caused about $15,000 in damage.

Anyone with information about the fire is asked to call the fire marshal’s office at 443-550-6831.
