James and Andrea Buczek of Waldorf will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 10.
They will be honored by a family gathering in Captiva Island, Fla., at South Seas Plantation — a place where they have vacationed for 21 years.
Jim and Andrea fell in love as high school sweethearts in Hollywood, Fla.
They have four children, Denise Buczek and her partner, Paul Blanchard of Dana Point, Calfi., Kristin Buczek of Alexandria, Va., Carole Logue and her husband, Matt Logue of St. Simonís Island, Ga. and Vincent Buczek of Myrtle Beach, S.C.
The Buczeks have two granddaughters, Kayla and Taylor Logue.
They spent many years raising their family in St. Maryís County, living in Golden Beach.
Jim is a supervisory building management specialist at the Pentagon with 37 years of public service.
Andrea retired this year as a bookkeeper and accountant.
They enjoy bowling, spending time near the beach, boating and fishing, traveling to visit family, and anything that entices their spirit of adventure.
Still in love today, Jim and Andrea are embracing their golden years.
