Congratulations to the 15 high schoolers who took part in the Youth Leadership Montgomery program this year.

The Rockville-based program seeks to give high school students the skills to achieve success in life, such as leadership skills, public speaking and confidence. Students learn about issues that affect youth in the county, meet peers from other schools, visit nonprofit organizations and improve their communication skills.

Its a program that really helps them with their awareness and skills about leadership, Program Director Kati Gimes said.

Leadership Montgomery also offers leadership and networking programs for adults.
