An all-day fundraiser at the Olney Greene Turtle on Dec. 6 will help the Fighting Barry Foundation’s efforts to support lung cancer research and awareness.
Annie Barry founded the nonprofit organization in honor of her father, Olney resident Dennis Barry, who passed away in September 2011 after a six-year battle with lung cancer.
The second annual Memorial Birthday Bash will include live entertainment by acoustical group Sherry Felice and Alan Main, the band “Late As Usual,” and dance group the “Hip Hop Mamas.”
The event will also feature jewelry available for purchase, and many raffle items, including a live in-studio sit-in with radio station 106.7’s “Sports Junkies” and an authentic NFL Redskins helmet autographed by Robert Griffin III.
