Santa’s Workshop at the Damascus Community Recreation Center is looking for an expert snowflake decorator, a baker willing to bake cookies for a cookie swap or someone crafty to come up with kids projects.

Volunteers need to be high school-age or adult, or middle school children who are accompanied by a parent in costume as well and working a specific section of Santa’s Workshop. Volunteer applications and student service learning forms are required. Volunteers will be interviewed and placed in appropriate assignments according to their talents and expertise. Artists, theater set designers, actors, actresses, crafters and game people are encouraged to apply.

Volunteer opportunities and Student Service Learning hours are available from 3 to 6 p.m. Nov. 29 through Dec. 11 and from 5 to 10 p.m. on Dec. 12. Volunteers should get a volunteer application form at the center’s front desk during regular business hours. The center will also be open on Dec. 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for volunteer registration. The Damascus Community Recreation Center is located at 25520 Oak Drive, Damascus.
