The Newtowne Players will perform “A Christmas Story” by Philip Grecian Thursdays through Sundays until Dec. 16.

Humorist Jean Shepherd’s memoir of growing up in the Midwest in the 1940s follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas.

Jeremy Leissner narrates the play as the adult Ralph.

Cast members include Bradley Oosterink as Ralphie Parker, Alison Dodges as Ralphie’s mother and Carlton Silvestro is Ralphie’s dad, The Old Man.

Jonah Bell plays Randy, and Joanne Fuesel is Miss Shields.

Brandon Munn is Flick, Chad Leo plays Schwartz, Chloe Harsha is Esther Jane Alberry, Acacia Morton plays Helen Weathers and Brandon Maher is Scut Farkas.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances start at 8 p.m.; Sunday shows begin at 3:30 p.m.

Performances are held at Three Notch Theatre on 21744 S. Coral Drive in Lexington Park.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children, and $12 for students, senior citizens 65 and older and the military. Thursday shows are $10 general admission. Light refreshments and beverages also are available for purchase.

The theatre is also asking for donations for the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots campaign. Each toy should be unopened and unwrapped. Bins will be provided in the lobby during the run of “A Christmas Story.”
