Kenneth Bradley “Kenny” Hardesty, Sr., 45, of Lothian died Nov. 20, 2012.
Born June 18, 1967, in Cheverly, he was the son of the late Carroll E. Hardesty Sr. and the late Margaret Ann Hardesty.
He had many friends. He was a kindhearted person and would do anything for anybody. He loved his family and friends dearly. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and his animals, Macy, being one and all nine of his miniature horses. He worked as a truck driver and boom operator for Pro Build Building Supply for 17 years. He loved Westerns and old classic country music.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Carroll E. Hardesty Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Phyllis Sharon Hardesty; son, Kenneth B. Hardesty Jr. and his wife, Jessica Hardesty; daughters, Brittany S. Hardesty and Steffany R. Hardesty; grandchildren, Shelby Ann Hardesty, Kenneth B. Hardesty III and Douglas R. Fowler III; brothers, Ronnie Hardesty and his wife, Sandy, Rickey Hardesty and his wife, Charlene, Gene Hardesty and his wife, Laurie, and Wille Hardesty and his wife, Gail; and many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, many of which live in St. Mary’s County.
The family received friends and a service was held Nov. 28 at New Life Church in La Plata. Interment took place at Oakland Cemetery in Waldorf. Pallbearers were Kenneth Hardesty Jr., Berry Garner Sr., Robert Farmer, Carroll Hardesty III, Rickey Hardesty Jr., Trey Johnson, Dennis Windsor and Michael Hardesty. Honorary pallbearers were Ronald Garner, Danny Hardesty, Ben and David Hall and Joe Boswell.
Arrangements were handled by Johnson Funeral Service in White Plains.
