Charles A. Rothenbecker Jr., 54, La Plata

Charles A. Rothenbecker Jr., 54, of La Plata died Dec. 1, 2012, at Civista Medical Center, La Plata.

He was an ironworker with Ironworkers Local 5. He helped with the construction of the U.S. Marine Museum at Quantico, Va., and the Newseum in Washington, D.C.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Rothenbecker of La Plata; sons, William and Wayne Rothenbecker, both of La Plata; daughter, Wendy Rothenbecker of Senatobia, Miss.; stepmother, Judy Rothenbecker of Montgomery County; sisters, Ruth Kenny of Newburg and Sandra Snellings of Mechanicsville; and six grandchildren.

A life celebration will be held from 2 p.m. until time of service at 4 p.m. Dec. 8 at George P. Kalas Funeral Home, Oxon Hill. Burial will be at the discretion of the family.
