Jerame Derrick Swann, 25, Mechanicsville

Jerame Derrick Swann, 25, of Mechanicsville died Dec. 4, 2012.

Born Sept. 13, 1987, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of Allen and Mary Swann.

He attended public school and graduated from Chopticon High School in 2007. After graduation, he worked for several employers including Copsey Seafood, McKays and Cord Cabinetry. In 2008, he began working with his dad contracting for PEPCO.

He was a devoted son who took pleasure in playing Santa Claus at family Christmas parties. He also enjoyed hanging out with his Uncle “E,” brothers and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Louise Swann and Carrie Thompson; grandfather, Raymond Thompson; and cousin, Joshua Jones.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Allen Jr., Lawerance and Branden; grandfather, Lawrence Swann; sisters-in-law, Nicole and Andrea; nieces, Brook, Chloe and Dystiny; nephew, Logan; five uncles; five aunts; and many other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Dec. 9 at Thornton Funeral Home, Pomonkey. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Dec. 10 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Pomfret. Burial will take place at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf.

Arrangements are being handled by Thornton Funeral Home.
