Flora Emma “Flo” Grant, 76, of Mechanicsville died Nov. 4, 2012, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown.
She was born Nov. 18, 1935, in New Kingston, Pa., to the late Francis Paul and Anna Waltman Paul.
She was employed as an accountant at the Washington National Zoo. She enjoyed her family, volunteering at Andrews Air Force Base Hospital, crocheting blankets for the returning heroes at Walter Reed Medical Center, reading and crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Harry John Paul.
She is survived by her loving husband, Larramont Howard Grant; sons, Francis Grant and his wife, Anita, and Harry Grant and his wife, Tammi; daughters, Elizabeth “Beth” Curtis and her husband, David, and Cathleen “Cathie” Grant; grandchildren, Jason Grant, Nicholle Grant, Patricia Grant, David Grant, Jacqueline Curtis, Ryan Curtis, Joshua Curtis, Ashlie Lanier, Hannah Grant and Chloe Grant; great-grandchildren, C.J., Aiden, Keiondre, Kentrell, Adriyanna and Lanaiya; and sister-in-law, Marie Paul.
Family received friends for a memorial gathering Nov. 15 at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home in Charlotte Hall, where a memorial service followed with the Rev. Paul Goodwin officiating.
