Reubens to be prepared by Paula

On Monday, Dec. 10, at noon, enjoy a homecooked meal of Reuben sandwiches that will be prepared by Paula at the Northern Senior Activity Center. Reserve a lunch by noon today, Friday, Dec. 7, by calling 301-475-4002, ext. 1001. Cost for lunch is a donation for seniors 60 and older; $5.50 for others.

Garvey to host holiday celebration

For a special holiday treat on Tuesday, Dec. 11, at noon, the Garvey Senior Activity Center welcomes back Terry Marsh and her Showstoppers and Chartoppers show, featuring favorite holiday tunes. When Marsh was at Garvey in 2011, she entertained with her fast-moving program of Big Band numbers and show tunes. This year, she will sing favorite holiday tunes with a touch of blues and Big Band. Following the show, there will be a gift exchange. Participation in the gift exchange is optional. Bring a wrapped gift, costing $5 or less to participate in the gift exchange.

The lunch menu will feature chicken cordon bleu, mashed potatoes, gravy, garden salad with French dressing, peas and carrots, cranberry juice, lemon meringue pie and a drink. Lunch cost is by donation for those ages 60 and older and $5.50 for those younger than 60. Make reservations by calling 301-475-4200, ext. 1050.

Gift donations needed for Christmas gift bingo

New and unwrapped items for Loffler’s annual Christmas gift bingo are being accepted at the Loffler Senior Activity Center from Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The bingo will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 19, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. If you’ve bought or made something in the past year and found that you didn’t use it after all or received a gift that doesn’t quite work out for you, maybe you would like to donate it (please, no candles, expired food or shopworn items players give these as gifts to their loved ones). Here comes Santa Claus

On Friday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m., Santa will be cruising in to visit at the Northern Senior Activity Center in Charlotte Hall. Santa will give out surprise gifts for those who have been nice, compliments of the Northern Senior Council. Bring your camera as Santa will also be available for photos. Reserve a lunch by noon on Dec. 13 by calling 301-475-4002, ext. 1001. Cost for lunch is a donation for seniors 60 and older; $5.50 for others.

Dinner raffle tickets to be sold at party

Tickets for a dinner raffle will be available at the annual Christmas party that will be held at the Loffler Senior Activity Center on Friday, Dec. 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost of the raffle tickets will be $10 each, and the winning name will be drawn at the Christmas party. The winner gets a dinner for six to eight people at the Loffler Senior Activity Center on a weekend evening in January or February. A choice of several appetizers, entrees, side dishes and dessert will be served on Loffler china in an elegant setting. Advance raffle tickets are available.

Holiday show troupe dancers to perform

Get in the Christmas mood by watching the Charles County Show Troupe perform a series of holiday-themed dances. Back by popular demand, the show troupe visits the Northern Senior Activity Center on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 10:30 a.m.

Call 301-475-4002, ext. 1001, by noon the day before to reserve a seat for this performance and a spiral ham lunch. Cost for lunch is by donation for seniors 60 and older; $5.50 for individuals younger than 60.
