State fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of a blaze that resulted in $10,000 damage to a 35-foot houseboat Tuesday night at Herring Creek Road in Tall Timbers.

Second District volunteer firefighters responding to a 10:29 p.m. alarm brought the blaze on Frederick Meatyard's houseboat under control within 10 minutes, according to a notice of investigation by deputy state fire marshal Don Brenneman. A tenant discovered the fire.

Fire investigators requested that anyone with information about the fire call their regional office at 443-550-6820.
