The Southern Maryland Studies Center hosted “Share Your History: Working the Land and Water” on Oct. 20 at College of Southern Maryland’s Prince Frederick Campus. Community members brought historical documents and photographs, which were scanned and kept as digital files under the property of SMSC and the Calvert County Historical Society. Seated from left are volunteers Richard Dodds of the Calvert Marine Museum and Chris Stelloh-Garner of the Calvert County Historical Society. The SMSC archives house more than 200 unique collections consisting of personal papers, records of local businesses and organizations, manuscript material, photographic material, rare books, maps, architectural drawings, oral history interviews and other audiovisual material dating from the 18th century to the present. These materials provide valuable insight to the economic, social and political currents that helped shape the region. Learn more at www.csmd.edu/Library/SMSC.
