After reading some of the letters to the editor from my Republican friends, as a Democratic voter, I thought it time to express my sympathy.
From the tone of the letters, it became apparent that the thought of a Republican loss had never crossed their minds. It apparently came as a complete shock that the programs they were advocating would be rejected by a majority of the nationís voters.
Perhaps a review of their position and some adjustments to their approach would allow them to join the mainstream of Americans. In the meantime, they have my sympathy.
Predictions of doom and gloom are rarely a winning proposition.
