Police arrested a 55-year-old Frederick woman Friday evening and charged her with assault in the stabbing of a man in his forearm.

Malinda G. White of the 1200 block of Stillmeadow Place in Frederick was charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and possessing a dangerous weapon with intent to injure, police said.

Officers responded to a report of a stabbing around 7:30 p.m. Friday and found White and the man. The man was treated at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

White and the man knew each other, and the stabbing occurred after an argument, police said.

Frederick police also responded to reports of gunshots being fired around 1:20 p.m. in the 100 block of West All Saints Street.

Officers determined there were no injuries, but they found property damage. Police questioned several witnesses.
