John Robert “J.D.” Daly, 45, of Lusby died Nov. 22, 2012, at National Institutes of Health Clinical Center in Bethesda.
Born in Albion, Mich., he was the son of Brian Thomas Daly and Mary Louise Luedtke Daly.
He graduated from Farmington High School in Farmington, Mich., and joined the U.S. Navy in September 1988.
He had a distinguished 23-year naval career, with his final command at Scientific Development Squadron One (VXS-1) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station. After retiring from the Navy, he was employed by BAE Systems in Lexington Park as the field technical unit manager.
He was an active member of the NAS Pax River Chief Petty Officer Association and American Legion Post 274 in Lusby.
He is survived by his wife, Dawn of Lusby; two daughters, Cary Lynn and Erin Marie of Las Cruces, N.M.; his parents of Farmington; and brother, Stephen Daly of Northville, Mich.
A celebration of his life will be held Dec. 14 at 3 p.m. at American Legion Post 274 in Lusby.
