A 21-year-old man died Sunday after the car he was driving in Gaithersburg crossed over the center divider and struck an oncoming vehicle, Montgomery County police said.

The collision occurred shortly after midnight Sunday on Snouffer School Road just north of Centerway Road. Luis Kenyo Chambergo-Chanco, 21, of the 18300 block of Lost Knife Circle in Montgomery Village, was driving a Honda Civic south on Snouffer School Road when the car crossed the divider and struck a Nissan Rogue that was going north, police said.

Chambergo-Chanco was transported to a local hospital by ambulance, where he died, police said. The driver of the Nissan, Tamara Rabinovich, 48, of the 8900 block of Alliston Hollow Way in Gaithersburg, and a passenger, Sergey Petrovich Kleyman, 48, of the 8900 block of Alliston Hollow Way, were also transported by ambulance and treated for injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

Family members of Chambergo-Chanco, as well as Rabinovich and Kleyman, could not be reached for comment on Sunday.
