Two victims are in stable condition Monday afternoon after they were stabbed in Olde Towne Gaithersburg early Saturday morning.

One victim flagged down a Gaithersburg police officer patrolling in the 200 block of East Diamond Avenue around 2 a.m. Saturday. The victim said he was stabbed by a group of unknown males, according to a release from Gaithersburg police.

As officers investigated the report, a call was dispatched for another victim who was stabbed near the intersection of Brookes and Park avenues. The victims were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Dan Lane, spokesperson for Gaithersburg police.

Lane said police currently believe there are three suspects, all Hispanic males, who started a conversation with the victims. One of them brandished a knife and stabbed both victims, the release stated. The victims know each other, but it is not yet clear what their relationship is, Lane said.

A language barrier is slowing communication between police and the victims, who have not yet been identified, he said. Police are seeking the publicís help with this investigation. Anyone with information regarding this attack should contact the Gaithersburg Police Investigative Section at 301-258-6400. Those who wish to remain anonymous can contact the Gaithersburg Crime Tip Line at 301-330-4471.
