A St. Mary’s judge set a bond requirement of 10 percent of $2,000 for the pretrial release of Derrick R. Hall, 27, of Prince Frederick after his arrest on circuit court charges including obtaining oxycodone by fraud and possessing oxycodone with the intent to distribute the drug.

St. Mary’s narcotics detectives filed initial district court charging papers last June alleging that when police got a report that Hall was attempting to pass a fraudulent prescription for oxycodone at the address of the Target store in California, he was found to be in possession of suspected oxycodone and a fraudulent prescription made out to another person.

A prosecutor said Monday in court that 40 pills were recovered through the investigation. A public defender representing Hall during the court proceeding said he turned himself in to be served with the new circuit court charges after he learned that police had been to his home for that purpose.
