Are you looking for a gift for the person who has everything? Or perhaps want to give a gift that is more meaningful and maybe unconventional? The Community Foundation of Southern Maryland is kicking off a new program to offer folks an inspiring and convenient way to give while helping to support the invaluable work of nonprofits in our community.
Your donations may be in any amount and put in your name, or in honor or in memory of someone special. Upon your request, we will send the recipient a note on how their gift will be spent. As the purchaser of this gift, you will receive a tax deduction letter from us. Giving this way is more personal and easy.
The donations will be pooled with other donations and included in our Community Grant Fund. The donations will help support nonprofits located in Southern Maryland that focus on arts and culture, education and scholarships, environment, general community improvements, health and wellness and youth initiatives.
For those of you who wish to contribute to a fund already in existence or who would like to create your own charitable fund, we can help you accomplish this before the end of this year. We accept donations of cash, stocks, real estate, IRAs and other deferred gifts. Your fund could help the entire Southern Maryland community or support a specific charitable organization, whatever you so choose. Funds may be endowed or nonendowed. Funds may be named or you could give anonymously. The Community Foundation of Southern Maryland is flexible and has an option to fit your needs, your style and your personal goals.
Whether you are taking your first steps in philanthropy or considering a bequest or a family foundation to ensure lasting impact, the Community Foundation of Southern Maryland can help you develop an informed, powerful and completely personalized approach to your giving.
